I searched for an affordable Lane banjo for about 25 years before stumbling onto this one in March.
If you know anything about Harry Lane, it is my understanding that he made less than 40 banjos in the 70's & 80's (although I understand he is starting to build custom, one-of-a-kind instruments today) and I fell in love with the Lane banjo after seeing Jimmy Arnold play his in the early 80's. However, I just acquired a prewar top tension flathead and a few things must now go. This is the second most powerful and great sounding banjo I have ever owned and I am going to kick myself for selling it. Rare Harry Lane Top Tension Model M, in Walnut, for sale.
