Forget any CAM software, unless you want to draw everything as a mirror of the desired object so that it comes out right on the machine. What you are trying to do is set up a left-handed coord system, and you are going to be out of step with the rest of the world. Everything - and that means everything - assumes a right-handed coordinate system. However, if you think that you might addle your brain to do it the "conventional" way, then you are going to get double-addled with spots on if you then want to use any CAM software. are you saying this cant be done? or that home wouldn`t be at machine 0,0?You certainly can set up Mach3 to do that - it's just a matter of setting the "direction" flags appropriately in Mach3. I would like my top left corner to be my 0,0 and bottom right to be +1000,+750 like a sheet of print, I have used coreldraw like this for so long my tired old brain struggles with anything else.

Here is my setup for those who wish to compare: Mach3 - R3.042.036 (Licensed) Gecko - G540 Smooth Stepper - Plugin Beta2 0.015ogx - FPGA 37 FTDI 2.04.34 - USB Driver 2.6. I too have the issue that I can't get the G540 working with MAch and my HF spindle.

So I can’t speak for “active high” on those 3 settings, but this is working for me. Only one lights up at a time and they light for the proper functions. Same when you turn the dial to thc up and down. In reality, when you dial screen 6 to torch on, only the torch on led lights up. The picture attached is a little deceptive showing all three led’s on at the same time. When you dial the Price THC to screen 6, you can then cycle through torch on, thc up and thc down in simulation mode and each of the corresponding led’s light up on the diagnostics screen. When I did the setup, I paid particular attention to a section of the user manual on using the diagnostics screen to test the outputs. Trusting the info to be correct, I just did exactly what it says. I got that in an email from Albert Price of Price CNC. Yes, I set it up with active low on for all three as in the 1st post. If it does as well as I’m hoping it does, I’ll do a little video on it too. I snagged a late model used one on eBay fairly cheap. I’m busy installing a Curtis refrigerated air dryer this weekend.
I want a post processor that can flawlessly handle that. In the end a few weeks from now, I want to use the ohmic as my primary and the floating head as a secondary backup for touch & go starts. I’m also trying out a couple other post processors.

In the meantime, I’m testing the Floating Head post processor that is a download available for free on the website right now. I’m anxiously waiting for that sensor to arrive from Vietnam and it’s taking forever. I am also installing a Robot 3T ohmic sensor.

I recently upgraded to the Price THC and while at it, I decided to upgrade the Zed too. That diagram is straight from Price CNC’s manual. The diagram above from Blackslacks is exactly the right one. However, my initial query is to do with spindle control.

I have much to do with setting up Mach 3 (and learning how to use it ) and I may have further queries on things like home switches etc. Post by Ali Kat » Tue 27 Mar, 2012 11:15 am. Novamill spindle speed control from Gecko G540. I’ve had the Gecko 540 on my machine since late 2014. Hardware/Software: Novamill / Mach 3 / Gecko G540. I will keep updating and do a short video or two as I move forward.
